Another year has gone by!

I cannot believe that today is the last day of 2007. With that being said, I decided to dedicate this post to the ups and downs of 2007. The year started out with a bang!! Landon was born on January 25. It was a very exciting time, especially since my parents flew up to be here for the birth! We lived in England when Tyler was born and it was the same week that the war broke out so no one was able to come and see her! So it was a very emotional time for me to have my mom and David in the room with me when Landon was born. After Landon was born the year kind of took a slow pace but I think that was only to get us ready for the rest of the year. On April 2, the kids and I boarded a planed headed to Dallas, TX for Courtney and Jeff's wedding!! It was a very exciting time and David was going to join us 2 weeks later, right before the wedding. Well fate had other plans. As soon as I was standing up to enter the airport, I turned my phone off and I had a text message from David. I was thinking, oh how sweet, he wanted to check on us and make sure we got to Dallas safely!! NOT!!! He sent me a text saying that he wouldn't be able to come home for the wedding because he would be in San Antonio for tech school. We knew there was a chance he would have to cross train because his career field was overmanned but we really hoped that David wouldn't be one of the chosen few. As soon as I found mom and Courtney I called David to find out what was going on. And that is when our lives took a big 360!! So we were home for a month without David and pondering the whole time what our summer would have in store for us. The wedding was beautiful and we are so excited to have Jeff as a part of our family. Not that he wasn't before the wedding!! A few days after we got home from the wedding I get a call from David and he said that we are PCSing (moving). OH FUN!! The plus of the whole situation is that we were moving closer to home!! The downside, we would be leaving all of our good friends and I had to try to sell a house all by myself!! Luckily one of my friends gave me the name of an awesome realtor and we had the house sold in 2 weeks!! A month later we were off to our 3rd base in six years!! After we got settled in, I started back to school. It is definitely my best decision for the year 2007!! I am going back to school for a degree in early childhood/elem education!! I love it!! I even got to work in a second grade classroom last semester!! So we are finally settling in, lots of visits from family (we are a lot closer to home after all!!) and everything is going great!! On Nov 3, we are at Walmart when David got a call from his brother. David's dad had a massive heart attack and didn't make it. Our world literally stopped!! We rushed home, the whole way home it was like nothing happened. We were in shock and not home yet so it was too hard to believe. I am not sure that we still believe it. Being away from home, we aren't there to deal with it on an every day basis. So it only hits us when we go home for a visit! He is a wonderful man and I know that he is watching over us from up above!! We had a wonderful Christmas and now with the new year right around the corner we are looking for to the razorback bowl game and to see what the new year brings us!! I am sure it will be a year of ups and downs but the ups and downs always make you a stronger person. David will be deploying in the spring so please keep us in your prayers!! And we wish everyone the best 2008!! Happy New Year!!

When did she grow up on me?

Seriously, when did my little girl grow up on me so fast?
My mom called me Friday night and asked if she could meet us and pick up Tyler and take her back home with her!! Can you imagine the excitement that came over me. I didn't hesistate to say yes!! She wanted to take Tyler to see Sesame Street Live on Sunday. When I told Tyler the news she ran upstairs, got her suitcase and emptied her dresser into her suitcase. (I still have a mess in her room to clean up!!) So Saturday morning we are off to Branson to meet mom, Courtney and Jeff. We met them at a store and then Tyler got in the car with them and it was all I could do to get a goodbye from her!! But I know how excited she was and I am excited for her!! But it didn't keep me from shedding a few tears. Heck, we aren't even in the same state right now!! After we left them, they went shopping at one of the outlet malls. I called mom later that day and Tyler told me what all she got and that she was too busy to talk right now because she needed to play with her new Mermaid head (one of those heads that you style their hair). Ok, so when did she turn 16!! Mom said she slept the whole way home and when they got home Tyler wanted to open up her Christmas presents. Yes, she really is that spoiled!! LOL!! Mom said that Tyler stayed up to 3:30 a.m. playing with all of her toys!! Heck, she had a long nap, she was ready to go!! Today they are going ice skating. Tyler decided she would rather go ice skating then seeing Sesame Street Live. Again, when did she grow up on me!! I am going to say a little prayer that my mom doesn't fall and break her back. Tyler will be fine, she is 4, kids recover fast!! I can't wait to hear about the ice skating trip. I gave my mom my camera so she could take lots of pics!! I can't wait to see them!!

My New Years Resolution for 2008

Ok, so I caught bits of pieces on Oprah (man I miss DVR) and she had guests that were ex planing how much money you can save by using coupons!! I always say that I am going to start using coupons but we do not get a Sunday paper so I just haven't messed with it. Well yesterday I was reading one of my friends blogs and she saw Oprah also and posted a website that helps with saving big money by using coupons. So I went on the website after everyone went to bed and I promise I spent an hour and a half on there. OH yeah, the website is www.hotcouponworld.com. There were all kinds of stories and pictures of what they call stockpiling. This is where you use coupons for products or nonperishable foods that you may need in the future. The stories are amazing and I am so motivated!! Living on one income with two kids isn't the easiest so I will look for any way to save some extra money!! And it isn't going to hurt to at least give it month and see how it works out!! So if you have any coupons you don't use then send them my way!!!

Landon is 11 months old!!

I cannot believe that my baby boy will be one in 28 days!! He is growing up so fast!! He is really starting to talk and is very vocal when he wants food!! He is always hungry, so chances are he is screaming MOMMA a lot!! He is having a blast playing with all of his new toys that Santa brought him!! As far as being mobile, no changes there. He doesn't' care anything about walking, standing up or anything. That is ok though, because I haven't even thought about baby proofing the house yet. In fact, we haven't even lowered his mattress on his bed yet. I keep asking David to lower it, but you know how that goes!! I think he only hears BLAH BLAH BLAH!! He has an appt at Children's Mercy Hospital next month for extensive allergy testing. Hopefully we will get some more answers. They specialize in children with weird allergies so hopefully they will test him for everything under the sun!! Speaking of Landon, he just woke up from his nap so I better make this short. We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.

Baby It's Cold Outside!!

We got six inches of snow yesterday!! We went from ice to snow. When winter hit, it hit hard!! We haven't been out to play in it yet. Tyler outgrew her snowsuit and Landon doesn't have one. It is 9 degrees outside. We will eventually get out there in it and build a snowman but we gotta get the kids suited up first!! For now we will just enjoy the snow in the comfort of our heated house!!

A Shout Out to the Beatty Women

I just wanted to let everyone know how proud I am of my mom and my sister. My mom had the bank's Christmas party last night and she was named Employee of the Year!! How awesome is that!! I am so excited for her. She deserves it and it was a long time coming!! Courtney also called me last night and she beat her best week every by $200 only working three days. If you don't know, Courtney is a hair stylist for the number one salon in AR. If you need a haircut and you live in Little Rock her salon is Joels Downtown Salon. Cheap plug there, I know!! And with my grades we really rocked it out this week!! Congrats Mom and Courtney!!

Finals are done!!

Finals are officially over and I am worn out!! Pending one grade, it looks like I have all A's for the semester!! YAY!! I cannot believe it. Going back to school, after being out for 4 years, was an adjustment!! I know that I could not have done it without my family!! David was a savior!! Bless his heart, he had to cook more than normal and help out around the house more while I was studying. But he never complained because he knew that it was important that I got that paper done or studied for that big test!! My mom was my inspiration!! I knew that I could go back if she could go to school after being out for many years, have a full time job and a part time job!! She is a very strong person and I strive to be just like her every day!! Cathy would always tell me funny stories of her second graders that would make me laugh and really get me excited to have my own class one day. My second grade class at Whitmeman Elementary was the best. I miss them already!! And Tyler and Landon are a major part of why I am going back to school. I look at them when I am frustrated at school and then I know it is all worth it!! Many people told me that it would be too hard to go back to school with two kids or I would be taking time away from them!! I may have to sacrifice some time away from them but for the most part I haven't missed out on anything!! I know right now is the best time for me to go back to school before they are older and really need me!! I love David, Tyler and Landon and I am so thankful to have such a wonderful family to support me while I am back in school!! I know that this will all pay off when I have the same hours that they are in school and I get those summers off!! Well maybe not the whole summer but hey it is better then what I got now!! I am sorry I am blabbing about me!! But it is just so important to me to thank those that I love so much!! Now it is time to get the house back in order and get ready for Christmas!! YAY!!

The New CDC

We went to the open house at the new CDC last night and it surpassed my expectations. It is really nice!! Tyler is so excited. They got all new furniture too!! That may not seem like a big deal to you but as a previous CDC employee I know how expensive that furniture is and it takes an act of congress to get that kind of money to buy it!! Tyler is so excited about the new housekeeping area. That is her favorite area to play. The rooms are so much bigger and the playground is so nice!! I am so excited for her!! Those kids will have no problem taking a nap on Monday, they are going to be worn out with all the new toys to play with. I wanted to take pictures but David had to work last night. It is impossible to take pictures while holding Landon!! I swear that boy gained 5lbs this week. He seems heavier and heavier every day!!

Speaking of Landon, he is 10 1/2 months old now. I can't believe it. No, he still isn't mobile. I am not worried about it. He is his father's son. People are really starting to drive me crazy about him not crawling. But news flash: Some babies do not crawl!! And I really don't think he will be in any hurry to walk. Not a big deal. I have had to chase after Tyler for the past 4 years, a relaxed, laid back baby is no thing to me!! LOL!! Seriously, it is so amazing how different Landon and Tyler are!! As far as them as babies, Tyler was way more mobile but Landon talks more!! I picked Landon up from daycare the other day and he kept saying da da. I told him that da da was at work. I promise you, he said wok!! I about fell out!! It was so exciting!! I am not sure if David believes me or not!! Tyler is trying to teach him to say sister.

David's squadron is having a Christmas party for the kids this afternoon at the bowling alley on base. Tyler is so excited. It should be fun and a good break from studying for finals, which I should be doing right now!! Well I guess that is enough procrastination. Have a great weekend!!

One semester down, WELL ALMOST!!

Well I am done with classes. Next week is finals and then it is Christmas Break!! YAY!! I cannot wait for a break!!! Going back to school after being our for four years was definitely a challenge but it has all been worth it!! I know that teaching is what I want to do and I cannot wait for next semester to really get more in depth in my education courses.

The end of the semester also means that I had to say goodbye to my second grade class that I observed this semester. Yesterday was my last day. I became really attached to the class and it will be so hard not to go back next semester. I learned so much from my teacher and the students!! The teacher had the students sit in a circle and same one thing that they would miss about me. It was all I could do to hold back the tears!! I hope that when I start teaching that I have a class as awesome as they are!! The good part about this is that I will still see so many of the students, many of them live in my neighborhood!! David cannot get used to hearing Mrs. Pierce when we see one of the students on base!!

Today is also Tyler's last day at the old cdc building. They start the new center on Monday. They were having an open house last night but it got canceled due to ice and snow. It was a nasty day. However, it was rescheduled for tonight. Tyler and I cannot wait to check out the new center. Her providers told me that it is really nice. After working at the cdc at Hill for almost 3 years it will be really neat to see what a brand new center with all new furniture looks like!! Landon still doesn't have a spot at the CDC yet. They may open a new baby room in February but Landon will be one then so it won't help us out any. Once he turns one then he starts all over on the one year waiting list. We have pretty much given up on him getting into the cdc. AT this point I just hope he is in the CDC before Tyler starts kindergarten. The new CDC is across the street from the Elementary school so that would be very convenient for me!!!

Well I will wrap this up. I have been so busy with school lately that I haven't been able to post anything. Once finals are over I will get some pictures posted. I have lots of pics on my camera that I need to download. I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

I truly believed after Arkansas' big win over LSU on Friday that Arkansas would turn around and put their faith back in Houston Nutt and he would stay. Today he gave his resignation and my heart is broken. I don't think that 8-4 season is anything to complain about. So it may not be the best season but Arkansas has seen worse. You can say whatever you want to about Houston Nutt, but this is my blog so I will only say good things. He was what a true Razorback fan is!! He played for Arkansas and was a true Arkansan through and through. But at least he left us after an awesome win over LSU!! So I hope all you fans that wanted Houston gone so badly are happy!! Who knows what is in store for us now. I honestly hope we get a shitty coach so people will realize how good we had it!! But then again I do love my razorbacks so I really don't want a bad season. I guess we will just have to wait and see who Jeff Long can recruit for us. Whoever the new coach is they will have my support but forewarning: as soon as you loose a few games or piss the fans off they will give you hell!!

Happy Early Thanksgiving

Well it has definitely been awhile since I have posted anything. It has been a rough past two weeks!! But with Thanksgiving just around the corner I have really stopped to think about what we are thankful for. It has been a year of ups and downs but I will save that all for another post!! Right now we are just so thankful to be living closer to our family. It is so hard to believe that Thursday is Thanksgiving already!! We took the kids to get their pictures made yesterday! I cannot wait to see them. Although after a few minutes of smiling for the camera they both were done with the whole picture thing!! Oh well, I think the photographer got some really cute pics!! I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!!!

52 Days Til............

Christmas!! I can't believe it! Normally I am not in the Christmas spirit just a few days after Halloween, but this year is a different story. We just got back from Walmart and they have already started decorating for Christmas and playing Christmas music. We have to buy a new tree this year. Our old tree is way too big for our new house. We had so much fun looking at trees and all of the decor. I wish I could decorate right now. Normally we decorate the Friday after Thanksgiving but we will be in Arkansas this year so I guess we will put it up after we get back. While we were at Walmart, David bought a Santa suit. He has been wanting to dress up as Santa forever!! So when we saw the suit we had to get it!!! He is already working on disguising his voice!! I can't wait!! We have lots of things planned this year so it will be a fun season!!!

Novemeber already????????????

We had the best time last night. Tyler and David went trick or treating then they came back and Tyler passed out candy to the kids. Landon loved watching all of the kids in their costumes. Three of my students at the elementary school came trick or treating at our house. One of them recognized me before I even saw him. The other two looked at me like I was crazy when I told them hi!! Hey, it was dark and my hair was all pulled back and no makeup!! FUN TIMES!!!

Now it is time to count down to Thanksgiving. I love this time of the year because every month you have something to count down too. We finally get to go home this year for Thanksgiving. We haven't been home for a holiday in 7 years. We are really excited!! So I am sure we will gain 10lbs after having Thanksgiving dinner twice!! But it will be well worth it.

School for the semester is winding down. But with it winding down also means that it is busy as heck. I am ready for this semester to be over with, but I will be sad to end my field experience at the elementary school. I really love my class!!! And my teacher is awesome. I have learned so much and cannot wait to get more into my ed classes next semester!!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!! I love this time of the year. But I would love to know why candy is so expensive. I bought $50 worth and I am sure we will run out of candy in no time!! Tyler is so excited to go trick or treating tonight. Tyler is a pink poodle, Landon is a Razorback football player and Max's bandanna has ghosts on it. All three of our kiddos are too cute. Landon got to wear his football uniform to daycare today. Tyler didn't get too. Being that we are in the USA and all we have to make sure that don't hurt someones feelings due to their religious beliefs!! UGH!! But they were going to make scarecrows today so she took old clothes to school for her scarecrow.

We hope everyone has a great Halloween and gets lots of candy!!!

9 Months

Landon is 9 months old today!! I cannot believe how fast time is flying!! He is really starting to talk. He was saying dadadada forever but now his new thing is mamamama. He can also say hi! He loves to wave at everyone and loves to play with his toys. David is deteremined that Landon is about to crawl but I promise no attempt is being made!! He would rather roll around all over the floor then try to figure out how to get up on his knees!!! Landon and Tyler both have sinus infections. They weren't sick but both had nasty coughs so we took them to the dr. So they are on antibiotics and the cough is pretty much nonexistent. We are really looking forward to Halloween next week!! In the picture above, we were at Bass Pro Shop in Olathe, KS (outside KCK!!).

That was a close one!!

Let me paint the picture for you. We are in Warrensburg, fifteen minutes from the base, on our way back to the base to pick up Tyler from the CDC. We are flipping through the radio stations when we hear Johnson County, yes that is us, take immediate cover!! David and I look at each other and say oh crap!! So we made it to the base in record time. When we hand the SO our ids he tells us that we are in a tornado warning and to take immediate cover. Three seconds later the alarms start going off. I run into the CDC to pick up Tyler and they said that we cannot leave so I call David so he and Landon can come inside. We are in the halls with about 30 preschoolers. Talk about some good fun!! Not long after we get to the CDC the skies turn black!! Yes, we forgot what tornado weather is all about!! We were at the CDC for 4o minutes before we were cleared to go. The tornado touched town just southwest of Warrensburg. WE barely missed it. We heard on the news that one touched down in Warrensburg also and a tree was uprooted. Thankfully it didn't land on any buildings and there were no injuries!! Luckily we just had a test run. But you can bet that everything we need is now in our storm shelter so we will be ready for the next test run!!!

What a Week!!

Man, has it ever been a busy week!! The kids and David and I are worn out. David's parents were here last Saturday - Monday. We didn't do much. We showed them around Warrensburg and Sedalia. Then my parents got here Wednesday and left yesterday. They got to spend lots of time with the kids. They bought Landon his first pair of Nike tennis shoes!! They are so cute on him but he screams when we put them on. But he has to get used to shoes sooner or later!! I was trying to get him to say da da so mom and dad could hear him. He gave me a strange look and said moma!! We died laughing!! It was as if he was saying, you idiot you are my momma not my daddy!!! It was priceless. Today we have been playing catch up. I have been studying and working on papers all day and David has been watching football all day and dealing with a cranky baby. Poor Landon is so tired from all of the company. Tyler got Jungle Book dvd so she has been watching it nonstop!! Now we are watching the Razorback game but David and I are both so tired that we really want to go to bed and it is only halftime!! Hey cut us some slack, it has been raining here all day which makes you so sleepy!!

I am sorry I haven't posted any pictures of the visits with our families. My camera is broken!! The closest Best Buy is a hour away so I don't know when we will make it there. Hopefully I will get there before Halloween!! I would hate to miss out on priceless pics of the kids and their costumes. It is Landon's first Halloween!! Landon is going to be a razorback football player and Tyler is going to be a pink poodle!! Who would have ever thought Landon a football player and Tyler in a pink costume!! I know big surprise!! But they are going to be too cute!!

Hopefully I will have a good razorback recap tomorrow but I am not into the game so I am not making any promises. It is taking all of my energy just to type!!

OH we just found out that Tyler's first dance recital is on Feb 9, my bday!! I can't wait. She is so excited!!

Sorry

Sorry it has been awhile since I have made any posts. David's parents came to visit for the weekend. We had a nice visit. My parents are coming up tomorrow. So I have been busy doing school work so I won't get behind during all the visits from family!! But I did have to share this with everyone!! Landon said daddy today. Well it was more like gaddy but he looks at David every time he says it. So we know what he means!! I was trying so hard to get him to say momma first. He had said da da a few times but it was more of a babble then anything!! We are so excited. Hopefully mommy, momma, ma ma or something close to that is right around the corner. I will take anything. Both of our kids said dada or daddy first!! Oh well, David misses out on a lot so I will let him have that moment!!

Congrats David

David was named NCO of the quarter for his squadron!! I am so proud of him. He has been through a lot the last six months. But he has kept his head up and looking forward!! He has been studying his cdcs (sorry for the nonmilitary reading this) and his PFE for Tech Sargent. He wants Tech so bad!! I know he can do it!! Tomorrow is also his seven year anniversary in the Air Force. It really does seem like he has been in longer then seven years. I guess the numbers say otherwise!! Way to go David, keep working hard and you will get as far as you want!! I am so proud of you!!

God Bless Our Troops

My mom called me tonight to let me know that a lady at our church got the dreaded knock on the door that every military wife and mother dreads. Her son was killed in a road side bombing and gun fire in Baghdad. He was married and had two young girls, ages three and six. He was to return home in a matter of weeks. How does a mom explain this to her two young children who do not even understand what war is?

This is the first person that I have had any ties with that has been killed in Iraq. Every death hits home but this one I just cannot let go of. His mom is a wonderful lady. She just lost her husband this past year and now her son. A wife lost her husband and two innocent children lost their father.

There isn't a day that goes by that I do not know someone who is serving in Iraq. I always have that constant fear that something will happen to someone I know or worse David. I can be strong while he is gone because I have to for the kids. But I have no idea what I would do if something happened to him. I am very grateful that David is Air Force so for the most part he isn't in a lot of danger. But I do know that he isn't completely safe!!

I am intentionally leaving out the soldier's and the family's names. It is really sad when you cannot honor that person for the fear of protesters coming to the funeral. Everyone can have their opinion on the war, that is what makes us Americans, but is it necessary to harass our soldiers and their families. The family and friends are just trying to pay their last respect for their hero that made the ultimate sacrifice. Let them do this peacefully!

Last week David, the kids, and I went out to eat. As we were leaving I heard an older gentleman say ma'am. So I turned around and he pointed at me and asked me to do him a favor. I was thinking he may needed me to help him with something. So I went over to his table and told him hi and what could I do for him. He looked me dead straight in the eyes and said, " Can you do me a favor, you tell your husband thank you for serving." (David had on his uniform.) Every time I hear that it stops me dead in my tracks and a tear comes to my eyes. All we hear is the negative of the war, It is so good to hear people still supporting our military no matter what their opinion on the war is. They didn't vote for the war, they were sent there. So in Memory and in Honor of our military, please let them know how much you appreciate them. As a military wife it always feels like a thank you to me also. I know what David sacrifices when he is away so it is good to hear the appreciation.

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!!!!!!!

Book Fair at School

Today started the book fair at the elementary school that I am doing my field experience at. The students got to go and look at all of the books and make a wish list for their parents. I am crazy about books and especially children's books and this trait has been passed down to Tyler. I could just picture her going to the book fair next year and coming home with a wish list of about 10 books that she wants!! I was really impressed with the selection they had!! The book in the picture caught my eye!! Tyler loves anything to do with princesses. So I picked it up and looked through it. I was taken away with the illustrations in this book. It is your normal princess book. Each letter . stands for a princess, most of them are real life. Some of them were D for Princess Diana, Q for Queen Elizabeth. And the illustrations were breathtaking. I found the book on amazon so I am going to get it for Tyler for Christmas. Maybe now she can learn real life princesses other than Cinderella and all the other Disney princesses, not that there is anything wrong with that!! After all, every little girl wants to be a princess!!

Razorback Recap

Wow, do I ever wish we could have seen that game televised!! Wow, a win 66-7 over N Texas. Yes, we should have stomped them because N Texas isn't that good but the stats of this game are awesome. Casey Dick threw a 61 yard touchdown pass, the highest of his career. Way to go Casey!! And of course Jones and DMac were on top of it!! They even put in Nathan Emert as quarterback in the 3rd quarter. We definitely need someone in to get some experience in case something happens to Casey. The team needed a big win like this after the two big upsets to Alabama and Kentucky. But I am very upset about something and it isn't my hogs. I am so upset with our so called devout hog fans. Yes, it may be time for a new coach but do we really have to say the things that we are saying about Houston. Yes, he is going to keep to his running game until Casey Dick gains some confidence to throw the ball. Yes, Houston may have made some bad calls but aren't we all human. We all make mistakes, especially under a great deal of pressure. Attendance at Fayetteville was 66,343, the lowest since we went to 4-7 in 2005. What does that tell you, we only stay loyal to our razorbacks when we are having a good season. Well I am proud to say that I stick with my razorbacks through thick and thin!! They have my 100 percent support. Say what you want to say about Houston, he is a good coach. He has his faults but who doesn't. No one is perfect. UofA doesn't have the money that FL, Auburn, LSU or many of the other schools do in the SEC. And that hurts us when it comes time to recruit players or coaches. So lets all come together as a state and support our HOGS no matter what kind of a season it is. Ok, I will get off my soap box now!!!

FINALLY!!

Grey's Anatomy's season premier is tonight. I am so excited. It has been a long summer without Grey's!! I watched Private Practice last night. It was even better then I expected. I am not a big tv person but my Thursdays night do revolve around Grey's and now my Wednesday nights will revolve around Private Practice. It will be interesting to see how Grey's will be without Burke and Addison. What is going to happen with McDreamy and Meredith. OH the burning questions!! I can't wait until eight o'clock tonight!! If you watch it tonight let me know what you thought of the first episode and what you think we are in store for this season!!

Landon's New Toy

This is like the jumperoo that I was talking about a few posts ago. Well we got Landon this one at Walmart this afternoon. He has outgrown his swing and is so bored at home. So we broke down and got it. He loves it!! We laughed so hard at him tonight!!! The chair even spins around so he can move around to all the toys. Why does he need to be mobile when he has this thing?!!! It is so fun to watch him get into jumping in this because Landon is so laid back that you really don't see him get too excited over much other then a bottle and food!! So I think it was a good investment!!

We were looking at carseats while we were at Walmart for him. He is outgrowing the infant seat. Man, I forgot how expensive they are!! We found a few that we liked but of course I had to come home and do my research on the internet.

Tyler is going to a dinosaur park tomorrow with the CDC. I wish I could go with her!! She is so excited!! She asked me if I could go with her and it broke my heart to tell her no. But even if I wasn't in school I more then likely would not be able to go because of work. Actually, if I wasn't in school she wouldn't be going because we would be at home. It is a no win situation I guess!!

After we went to Walmart we stopped at Taco Bell for dinner. I noticed David was taking forever getting our food but didn't put too much into it. Well he sits down and tells me that we got our food for free!! Their credit/debit machine wasn't working so they told David not to worry about it. That Taco Bell has for sure earned my business!!! Most places would make you go get the money and bring it back to them!! I was really impressed!!

Well that is enough of our exciting afternoon, I am beat!! I hope everyone has a great week!!!

Razorback Recap

I am speechless!! I don't know what to say. It started so good and then like that right before halftime the momentum changed and it seemed to go downhill from there. Then a very major B.S. call that I really am to peeved to go into right now. I am just going to let this recap end here because I am too ticked off right now!! But really ticks me off is that this is hurting McFadden's chances for the Hiesman Trophy. UGH!!!!!

An Afternoon at the park

Hopefully the pictures show up this time!! Bare with me, I am still trying to figure this all out!! Last night David went fishing with his supervisor so I volunteered to watch his little girl who is Tyler's age. We went to the park across the street. The kids had the best time. Landon loved the baby swings. He laughed and kept going hi hi hi hi!! He eventually even fell asleep in the swing. It is so tough being a baby and having someone swing you until you fall asleep!! We went back this afternoon so David could watch Landon swing and so I could get some pictures. We didn't stay too long because it was so hot so Landon was starting to get fussy!! The heat really irritates his eczema. We don't have too many plans for the weekend. The Hogs play tonight so you know where we will be!!

Very Random!!

Landon's daycare has a stationery jumper like this one. Well they keep telling us how much Landon loves this thing!! They put him in it yesterday and he jumped and jumped and was laughing the whole time until all the girls were crying they were laughing so hard at him.

I think we are going to have to invest in this thing. He has been wearing himself out at daycare jumping in this thing. He comes home, eats then goes right to bed and sleeps until we wake him up the next morning. We are talking about 14 hours straight through!! Hopefully we can get one at Walmart then I can take a video of him jumping in it. I wanted to get one that you could put in a doorway but we don't have anywhere downstairs to put it. Tyler had one that went in the doorway when she was a baby and loved it.

Not too much is going on here. I am finally getting over my allergies. Man, I have been miserable!! UGH!! And school has been so busy that I just got into the dr yesterday. She gave me so many drugs that I felt like a drug store when I left!!

Well if we were still in UT, and David had not crosstrained then he would be in Iraq right now. Acutally he would be getting home this weekend. So say a prayer for 729 ACS on a safe trip home. It is hard to believe that we aren't there anymore. We are just trying to live each day to the fullest because we now May will be here before we know it and then David will be gone!! Heck, where has September gone to?

Our Weekend

Well I have been miserable for the past month with allergies and they keep getting worse. I can barely even see as I type this due to all the crud in my eyes!! It feels so good to be back in the country but at the same time these allergies have got to end!! I almost slept through the razorback game yesterday, well that is until it made a complete 180. I will discuss that in a few. David's allergies are bothering him also but meds to tend to help him. I have taken everything with no relief. Although Nyquil is quickly becoming my best friend. But I will keep trucking on and hopefully I will get some relief soon.

If you didn't watch the game yesterday then man did you ever MISS out!! The first half was pretty brutal but the second half was all razorbacks. I don't know what Houston told them at half time but he needs to tell them that before game starts. Casey was actually throwing good passes that were getting caught. The dream team was back in action!! And Petyon Hillis reminded us that he is just as much a part of the team as Jones and McFadden. Way to go Boys. We may not have won but they did make Alabama work for that last touchdown. It was a good game. Yes there were some really BAD plays on our part but I am going to let them slide because they showed what a good team we are. Heck, cut them some slack. After last season a lot of drama unfolded and they had it all weighing on their shoulders. Talk about some pressure!! I hope they have a really good week of practice because Alabama is going to be nothing compared to who we are playing next week, Kentucky. One word to my HOGS: FOCUS!!!!!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

There are still good people out there....

I have been having allergy problems for the last three weeks. This morning it was all I could do to stay awake. Before I went to class I decided to buy a coke from the vending machine. I had exactly one dollar. So I put my dollar in and go to push coke. To my surprise it was a coke machine with no cokes. It only sold those nasty energy drinks!! UGH!! And they were $2. So I started hitting the button trying to get my change back. NO LUCK!! I guess I was banging on the machine pretty hard when another student stopped and handed me a dollar. I looked at him a bit confused. He was a foreign exchange student and I could tell he couldn't speak a lot of English. I told him that was okay he could keep his dollar, but he insisted that I take it. Of course I thanked him over and over again and he smiled and walked off. I couldn't believe that he handed a total stranger a dollar bill. I guess I looked like I really needed that caffeine. Which is funny because I am not a big coke person!! So then I thought about the movie pay it forward or that new commercial, I forget what it is advertising (insurance I think). I never got my dollar bill back so I guess the next person was very lucky to get their energy drink at half price!! I hope to pay back his kindness to someone I see having a rough day!! I hope you will do the same!!

Trying out the BLOG WORLD!!

Okay, I have been wanting to get into this blogging for awhile now. However, finding a blog host that was easy enough to understand or free was another obstacle. So bare with me because this is all new to me. I am hoping to keep this updated at least weekly. Hopefully I will be able to figure out how to post pics on here also.

School for me is getting really busy. It is one paper after another!! But I am loving it. I just started my second week doing my field experience with my second grade class. I love it!! I go to the school twice a week. Today was my third time and I am already learning so much!! I have been placed with an awesome teacher so that is a relief!! It is funny what all a second grader will tell you about their parents. Remind me not to give Tyler too much info on David and I or let her overhear us having a private conversation. NO, I am not hearing *** talks but I might as well!! Second grade is a fun age and I am really enjoying it. I am also at the school that Tyler will start kindergarten at next year. That makes it even more interesting getting a sneak peak of what she will go through next year.

Tyler is loving her dance class. They are having their first recital in January or February. We got a sneak peak of possible costumes last week. I cannot wait!! Tyler just soaks up everything in that class. I am so happy we have found something for her that she enjoys so much. It is really becoming a passion for her and I hope it continues in the years to come.

Landon is really starting to do a lot more. He is sitting up better and better every day. He is even holding his bottle, Thanks MOM!! I must confess that my mom got him to FINALLY achieve this milestone. But what can I say, they always do something for someone else other then mom or dad!! We are still discovering more foods that he is allergic to. Last week he broke out in hives. I couldn't figure out what was causing this new set of hives. I was reading a book on peanut allergies, THE PEANUT ALLERGY ANSWER BOOK (I believe that is the title, a must read for anyone w/ severe allergies) and it turns out that peas and green beans are in the same legume family as peanuts. Most people can be allergic to peanuts but not have a reaction to green beans or peas. You notice that I say MOST!! Not the case for our poor Landon. So this week we are starting all over on introducing foods to him. One veggie for 3 days until we know for sure what he can have or cannot have. It was hard to tell before because his eczema was so bad, due to being allergic to his formula, that we couldn't tell a difference when we introduced foods. So this has all been a learning experience. The pediatrics office on base knows Landon by name when we walk in!! OUR POOR BABY!! But hey, it could be worse!! But thank God for this book. I am really learning a lot from it. Although I am having a hard time reading it in between all my school work.

David is David!! Just going to work and then playing mom when he gets home. I feel so bad because many nights he comes home from work and cooks, bathes the kids and anything else that needs to be done. But he doesn't seem to mind. He tells me that it is his payback for all the deployments and TDYs. I don't call it payback but at least a little insight on what I do go through!!

I guess this is all of what we have been up to. I will try to get pics and Tyler's Calling the Hogs video up soon!! It may be the end of the week, school is busy this week with speeches, research and tests. SAY A LITTLE PRAYER!! It was so slow and now it has all piled up in one week!!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!!
